A Taste of the Wild Atlantic Way

Our NEW Wild Atlantic Way tour combines the beautiful Wild Atlantic Way, Aran Islands and the iconic Cliffs of Moher, stretching for 8km along the Atlantic coast. With the ‘foodie’ inclusions of Treacys West County Hotel and the gourmet delights of the Burren region including The Burren Smokehouse – a perfect tour for those who appreciate good food and stunning scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way.

Wednesday We depart for the port of Holyhead and our crossing to Dublin. On arrival we continue to the outskirts of Dublin for one night, dinner, bed and breakfast (3-star hotel).

Thursday Following breakfast, we depart our hotel and make our way to Ennis, making a break in the city of Limerick. Set on the mighty River Shannon, Limerick has a rich history and strong heritage, which still remains today. Our journey will continue into County Clare to the town of Ennis for four night’s dinner, bed and breakfast at the Treacys West County Hotel.

Friday Today we enjoy a day of gourmet delights. Our first visit of the day is to Café Linnalla where delicious gourmet ice cream is made. Situated in the picturesque countryside of the Burren with stunning views of Galway Bay, we have a short guided tour of the farm before enjoying a specially selected home-made picnic and sundae. We return to Ennis via the Burren Smokehouse and Visitor Centre where you can discover the mystery of salmon smoking and the secret of how smoked salmon is handcrafted. There will also be the opportunity to taste the salmon. We will return to our hotel and enjoy a Irish coffee making demonstration, followed by an Irish coffee.

Saturday Today we travel southwards, along the Wild Atlantic way to Doolin Pier where we board the Doolin ferry for the 30 minute cruise to the Aran Island of Inis Oirr. On arrival, we enjoy a pony and trap tour of the island before enjoying a light lunch at the pier. It is the smallest of the Aran Islands at roughly 4km wide by 2km long, and has a palpable sense of enchantment, enhanced by the island’s windflower-strewn landscapes, deep-rooted mythology and enduring traditional culture. We re-board our ferry in the afternoon and enjoy a stunning cruise to the base of the Cliffs of Moher. The iconic Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland’s most visited natural attractions. Stretching for 8km along the Atlantic coast of Clare. We will return to our hotel and enjoy a whiskey and white chocolate cheesecake making demonstration.

Sunday Enjoy a day at leisure to relax and make use of the hotels leisure facilities or explore Ennis further. Situated at the heart of the county on a bend in the River Fergus, Ennis is the capital of County Clare. It’s an historical town and is certainly one of Clare’s most characterful and picturesque centres – with its narrow, winding streets and historical buildings. The shopping is also great in Ennis which has long been known as ‘The Boutique Capital of Clare’. This evening we enjoy an Irish themed evening meal including the cheesecake made the day before.

Monday We depart Ennis and begin our return journey home travelling north to the colourful and medieval city of Galway, one of Ireland’s largest and most engaging cities. We enjoy a guided walking tour followed by free time to explore. We will continue to our hotel on the outskirts of Dublin for one night dinner, bed and breakfast (3-star hotel).

Tuesday An early departure as we travel to Dublin Port. A full breakfast is included on-board the ferry. We continue our journey home.
