The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is the most spectacular show in the world, enjoyed by an international television audience of 100 million.
Wednesday We depart and travel to Dundee. On arrival at the Doubletree by Hilton Dundee, the remainder of the day will be free to explore. This evening enjoy a three course evening meal.
Thursday Morning at leisure, to relax in the hotel or enjoy the leisure facilities. Later this afternoon the coach will transfer you to Dundee, for an unforgettable railway journey to Edinburgh. The journey will take you across the Tay and Forth Bridges. This afternoon will be free for you to explore Edinburgh at your own leisure, before the coach will collect you and transfer you to the Military Tattoo. Late return to the hotel.
Please note: Some passengers may find the walk to the castle difficult. There is a steeply inclined walk up Castlehill, the old cobbled approach to the Esplanade. There is then a further 60-metre walk, followed by steps up to the spectator stands where the seating is quite steeply tiered.
Friday Today we enjoy a visit to Scone Palace, one of Scotland’s most important stately homes and the crowning place of Scottish Kings. Later this afternoon we return to Dundee with free time to explore the city including the new V&A Museum.
Saturday We depart after breakfast and return home.
The historical and traditional Scottish mansion house, built in 1870, is set in the heart of this tastefully extended Doubletree by Hilton Hotel. The hotel enjoys a quiet suburban location only a short drive from Dundee City. All bedrooms are en-suite with television, telephone, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Additional facilities include a lounge bar and restaurant. Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool and gym. NO LIFT. Limited ground floor bedrooms.
